Truth From An SEC Turn coat

Tag: Uncategorizedadmin @ 6:28 pm

I guess I should just own up to it: I hate every team that isn’t the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. I’m not one of those platform homers. I don’t love my team first and the conference second and the division next. I don’t root for other teams, ever.

Fuck all that: If it ain’t Gamecock, it can kiss my ass.

SEC fans are like black folk. Hold on, follow me. We get lumped together as if we love each other. People assume we’re bad-asses and tough. Other conferences dismiss us as overrated as they cross the street to avoid walking by us on the sidewalk. Lets take it another step. Being an SEC fan is like being a Negro in that we’re all different and we all pretty much hate one another.

Hey there brother, errr Bro.. ummmm, Brougham. We’re not brothers. Maybe back in my daddy’s daddy’s day that was the case. But its 2007, Breh.

Sure, on the outside, it might seem like we love one another. We shout down other conferences whenever they speak ill of us. We use our over-hyped toughness to punk the insecure teams. Our fans speak in term os absolute singularity, as if everyone member of the conference is an equal partner. But in actuality, there is no solidarity other than our hate for one another and our even greater hate for everyone else. Our consciousness only appears collective because - as sure as Al Sharpton has a bad perm - we blast back whenever someone speaks ill of the Almighty SEC.

Now tell me those aren’t your complaints about Black Folk. I know I’m right, because I Have the same complaints.

More to the point: Why I hate the SEC.
Winning and Losing in the SEC against fellow SEC opponents doesn’t benefit anyone. If my Gamecocks take down a Perennial Powerhouse squad in our Division, we don’t get viewed as improving - the other team gets ragged as a loser. Beating the #1 team in the nation didn’t help Kentucky. All it did was cloud the National Championship Picture. Now that LSU has one loss, ESPiN will use back-door logic to get Southern Cal into the NC game. It also lowered the stature of the SEC teams that LSU had already beaten. Now none of us are special.

No longer are my Gamecocks up and cumming… now we’re just taking advantage of a conference on the wan side of peak.

In Conclusion:
I am an SEC turncoat . It was only matter of time before I came out with the truth. The Enemy of mine enemy is not my friend. I say blast them all and let the WAC fans sort them out.
